    The Healthy Relationship was a success, to say the least! Over 250 young women had the opporunity to learn more about themselves, identify healthy and uhealthy relationships, and discuss topics that affect them on a daily basis. Check out our Great Young Women!!!!!

The event will bring together over 250 young women throughout Los Angeles to learn more about making positive choices in their relationships with others.

Some workshop topics include:

Ø     Unhealthy relationships

Ø     Substance abuse

Ø    Communication and family

Ø     Teen pregnancy

Ø     Self-esteem

Ø     Body-image

Ø     Preventing gang violence

Ø      And much more!

This year over 300 young women throughout Los Angeles were acknowledged for their completion of our 8-month YWAR program. Many individuals came to acknowledge their work, along with Commission staff and Councilwoman Janice Hahn. Overall,we had a great time rewarding our hard-working women, while also Graduation_0607_004_2enjoying great food. The highlight of the event came when a selected number of young women presented poems and essays about all the important things that they learned from YWAR!

YWAR is an 8-month program that prepares young women for BRIGHT and PROMISING futures. This is accomplished by providing them with information, resources, and skill-building opportunities that are most relevant to situations and issues they face as a young woman.

  • Feeling good about yourself
  • Creating healthy relationships
